Our Advancement Office made the switch to Salesforce three years ago. Cannot speak to the Target X or Colleague interface but there is a robust higher education community within Salesforce's online ecosystem. If you are contemplating Salesforce or have specific questions here are some links to resources that may help. I highly recommend the monthly office hours.

Our organization recently switched over to Salesforce last year in April. It's been (and continues to be!) a journey for us. Happy to share more about our experience so far, although we're not an academic institution so I can't speak to how it intersects with the other software programs you've mentioned. We are, however, aiming to transition all of our direct program departments to using Salesforce as well.

Our university is exploring the option of changing CRMs and they are wanting the advancement office to change systems also. At the moment the advancement office has RE and the University is wanting to move everyone to Salesforce, Target X, and keep Colleague.
Does anyone out there currently or have you used Salesforce and Target X? Would you be willing to discuss the pros and cons of the advancement office using these products and how well they "talk" to Colleague?
Thank you,
Cynthia Hornbeck
