A local foundation has approached us about setting up a scholarship of sorts to pay for housing for one of our clients (not a specific client) in a specific program. As background, we are a mental health and addiction services agency – we do have some residential programs but outside of that we don’t generally pay for client housing. This foundation would like us to choose a college student from the program (they would not have a hand in choosing) and they will pay for the students’ housing for up to four years as long as they stay in school and maintain a certain GPA. Like a scholarship but housing specific.
Does this throw up any red flags we should be aware of?
