New Podcast Episode: Use Your Data Creatively

By Meg Padovani posted yesterday

We’ve just released a new episode of the All About Supporting Philanthropy podcast that I think will resonate with many of you working in advancement services, analytics, and data strategy.

In this episode, we talk with Clare Buttry and Carrick Davis, two advancement services technologists who took a step back from day-to-day reporting to ask a simple question of their data. The result wasn’t just an answer, but a tool that helps people better understand the bigger picture behind alumni and donor engagement.

Our conversation explores:

  • Seeing the “forest instead of the trees” in advancement data

  • Turning curiosity-driven analysis into something broadly useful

  • Data visualization, dashboards, and the power of Sankey-style diagrams

You can listen to the episode here: Episode 39

And you can view the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Dashboard discussed in the episode here:

I hope you’ll give it a listen and find something useful for your own work.
