  • 1.  Wealth Screening Applicants

    I've been asked if it's possible to wealth screen applicant families. Not accepted families, which we do wealth screen as we add them to our CRM, but applicants. What advice to folks have for this scenario? Thank you.

    I think that will depend on whether you have informed those applicants that the information they have provided on the application will be used for other "Milton-related business purposes."

    Ethically, I do not think you can use application information for anything other than acceptance processes unless you have stated otherwise.

    You would probably want to seek the advice of your Counsel regardless.  There could be state privacy rules at play.

    Thanks, John.

    I said the same thing--that we would have to be clear that we were using the data beyond the application and through a 3rd party--but received some pushback so wanted to check in.
