Hi, Tammy!
In addition to what Tracy and Melody have offered, I would suggest you also consider how to use your named spaces/campus memorials tracking project to predict, collect and maintain an "inventory" of buildings, rooms, spaces, colleges, academic chairs or professorships, etc. which could be prime for a future naming opportunity.
We've been developing this for some of our clients who are converting to the Slate Advancement CRM.
By employing various searching capabilities, fundraisers should be able to search by type, location, funding level necessary, etc. as a way to work with prospects who may have an interest in a certain space or to want to know "what's available" for a potential gift range.
Also identfied as important is the ability to "hold" a space while a fundraiser works with the prospect via a proposal/opportunity to fund such a named space or campus memorial, then update it when funded or "release" it to make it available again for other potential donors.
Hope this helps! Good luck with your project!
Dave

Subject: Tracking Named Spaces in Database
Hi All!
Our Donor Relations team has taken on the project of tracking down and clearly documenting named items around our campus (ie: seats, trees, rooms, buildings, robes, etc.). Sometimes this includes a gift where we have had it clearly identified, sometimes it's just a plaque was found that has been placed but we don't have a specific gift associated with it. Sometimes it's the donor themselves that is listed and other times it's been named in honor/memory of someone else. I'm curious if anyone else tracks this information in their CRM and if so, where have you found this easiest to track? We use RE NXT, and we have a few ideas but would really love to hear what others are doing to track this information to make sure we have thought through all of our options.
Thank You!
