    Hello!

After reviewing the MGO Goal Planning best practices, I wanted to see how the majority of institutions are awarding credit:

    1. Do you award anytime a prospect makes a gift or only when there is a recorded solicitation on file (either via proposal or a solicitation contact report)?
    2. If you award team credit, do you award split credit so that the total credit totals 100% or do you allow 100% credit to each solicitor?

For reference this info in on page 6.

    Thank you so much!

    Amanda

    Hi Amanda,

    1) We count completed proposals for this metric - not every contribution. I'll note that at a previous institution we did the same thing but had to write code to ensure that the proposals pre-dated the contribution by a minimum amount of time (weren't being entered because DO's found out about a gift). That has not been an issue here.

    2) Our goals give 100% credit to everyone on the team, based on their being assigned to that specific proposal - not just if they are on the overall prospect team. It's up to managers to look at what makes up a DO's goal outcomes and address issues. If a DO is a team member but never a lead on a proposal that would be discussed.
