  • 1.  Social organization foundation gifts

One more question for the day. We have sorority Foundation that plans to raise money for a program on campus. I have confirmed via guidestar.org that this Foundation is a public charity and contributions are tax deductible. But, I know that we are unable to count gifts directed TO social organizations, like sororities, so are we able to accept and count gifts FROM their foundations?

    Thank you!

Absolutely you can! Just as long as the gifts further your institutional mission, are not directed to social organizations (student groups and clubs) and are not restricted to a small group of individuals.
