  • 1.  Quid Quo Pro Limitations

    Posted 08-04-2023 12:24 PM

I've been looking through my notes and online (even IRS site) with no luck.

What are the limitations set by the IRS? I know the gift received has a minimum amount set, and the exchange also has a dollar and percentage set to not exceed the lowest of the two. Just can't remember what they are or locate them.

    I appreciate it. Thank you.

There are two sets of rules:

Insubstantial benefits with a combined value of $12.50 or less with your name or logo can be given for minimum donations of $62.50.

For more substantial benefits the limit is $125 or 2% of the amount given, whichever is LESS. These benefits cannot be given in exchange for gifts from DAFs or private foundations.

    These limits change annually.
