  • 1.  QPQ bare minimum receipting

    Posted 05-05-2023 11:06 AM

    Good morning and Happy Friday!

What is the bare minimum that we must put on a QPQ acknowledgment? We are testing out our new online giving platform and utilizing the 'incentive' area and this is the acknowledgement that is sent, but we aren't sure if this is enough.

    Thank you!

No receipt is required at all if the payment amount is under $75. However, if you choose to issue a QPQ receipt for payments of less than $75 - as in your example - there is no "bare minimum." Per the IRS the receipt must reflect the total amount paid, the value and description of what was received, and either the net deductible amount or a statement that the charitable amount is the difference between the two.

The only time you do not have to declare anything is when the gift amount is $62.50+, and the value of all benefits are under $12.50 and have your name or logo.
