I know that a gift being paid by DAF cannot be paid toward a pledge. However, I have recently received a pledge and not told it was going to be paid by DAF (that's where the checks are originating). Also, I have received a promise that will be paid by DAF. Can I enter a pledge on the foundation record and soft credit the donor? I need to be able to pull the promised amount as this is for a campaign and the gifts must be reported to the bank for lending purposes, another foundation (for the purpose of a matching gift), and trustees for campaign progress. I could enter it as a pledge and remove from the auditable list, but I don't like that idea.
Any ideas of another way to enter a gift type the functions similar to a pledge and can be processed in that manner?
If it gets entered as a pledge, with the pledge amount being reduced with each payment. That will get reported twice, as we report cash gifts and pledges to trustees monthly. There needs to be a way to this without duplicating the numbers for the purpose of reporting.
Please advise.
Thank you.
