  • 1.  Non services question--Hiring short term MGO's?

    Anyone know of firms that hire out contract or short term gift officers?  Our BOT mentioned this as an avenue and I'm doing due diligence.  Any information is helpful!

    Not really a good idea. Major gift donors take 18 months to 3-7 years to cultivate. I cannot imagine a prospect wanting to be passed around over that period. They also like working with MGOs that have an intimate knowledge of the organization. Not a "hired gun."

    I know some search firms that will help fill a VP-level position with an "interim." But that person is more there as an administrator.

    Go back to the Board and ask for another full-time position!
