  • 1.  In Kind-paying for board dinner

    Would it be an in kind gift if a donor (not a board member) personally paid for meals for a board meeting?  If so, does it matter if they are on the board?

    This is a borderline activity given the small number of individuals who benefit from the contribution - even if the payment is "budget-relieving."

    The optics would be far better if the Foundation covered all expenses and the donor made a corresponding gift to the Annual Fund.
