  • 1.  Grant with subgrantees amounts included

    Posted 06-25-2025 10:22 AM

Hi All - we received a grant intended to support students from our institution to attend a conference next summer, but a portion of the funds will also be redirected to at least two other organizations (subrecipients), but we do not know the amounts for each organization at this time. My assumption is that we cannot count the entire amount as a contribution to our institution, but once the amounts are distributed (next fiscal year) we could then book the amount being allocated to support our students.  Looking for guidance as to how or if this can/should be booked. Thanks in advanced.

That is correct. You will be a passthrough.

I would place the funds in a holding account. As you learn of the amounts that belong to you, move them to the appropriate scholarship fund and count those dollars only then.
