  • 1.  credit card - individual authorized user vs cardholder

    Has anyone encountered an individual authorized user for another individual's credit card requesting a tax receipt in their name rather than the cardholder's name? The authorized user has POA over the cardholder. We are thinking the cardholder is still the donor, but have not dealt with this situation before.

    The legal donor is the owner of the money, or in a cc situation, the person who is responsible to pay the debt. The POA changes who may act on that person's behalf, but not the ownership of the money or the responsibility to pay back the debt.
