As we continue to look at refining our processes, we are recommending that we close plans and opportunities once all gift documentation is completed. Previously, we would create the fund when the documentation is in process and this would allow the fundraiser associated to get credit without a gift agreement or all the documentation necessarily being in place.
This recommendation brings up a hurdle for gift planning where some folks may want to document, but not designate quite yet. What is your policy around fundraiser credit for planned gifts in connection to completed gift documentation? We want to ensure that fundraisers are incentivized to be involved throughout the whole process.
