  • 1.  CASE/VSE Fund Designation for Chemistry Equipment

    Hi,

    Our Chemistry Department is fundraising $30,000 for special equipment for use by students in chemistry courses. I've been asked to set up a designation for this. For CASE/VSE purposes, is considered to be under Academic Division or Buildings & Equipment?

    It depends on how the equipment is used. If it is for research, it would fall under that category.

    It does not quite fit the "Academic Divisions" category as that is for specific departments but without further restrictions. Therefore, the "property, buildings, and equipment category feels more appropriate. Here is part of that category definition: "gifts made for the purpose of purchasing buildings, other facilities, equipment, and land for use of the institution;"
