We used OneCause for three years. We ran our silent auction using their online platform, we sold tickets through their platform, we used it for on-site gala registration, live event paddles up, and live event auction. Fantastic customer service both remote and physical live human beings at the gala. Interface easy to learn and use for staff and volunteers. Our challenge was processing the money. We were unable to get a report that directly listed each individual purchase to a credit card and a person's name. We could get a report that tied each purchase to a credit card, and we could get a report that tied an individual credit card charge with a person's name, but not a report that tied each individual purchase with the credit card used AND the person's name. We record each transaction individually so amongst 1,000+ individual auction items, paddles up gifts, ticket purchases, and sponsorships it was a real challenge to reconcile.
This year we moved 100% virtual and jumped to Clickbid. The interface is easy to use, our volunteer and staff have set up everything electronically. We have total control over when charges are applied to cards, and have been shown examples of the exact type of reporting we need to make this work for us. The biggest difference we have found is that Clickbid is very a la carte – you purchase each part of their services separately, including customer support. The access to support is very limited and after the amazing support we had with OneCause that was a jolt to our senses. Our events (silent online auction followed a week later by live virtual gala) got pushed back because of the freeze here in Texas. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Charlie,
It's been a while - I hope you're doing well.
We have successfully been using GiveSmart. It only allows a CardConnect merchant account. I understand not wanting to have multiple payment processors, but the fees aren't exorbitant (3.5% VISA/MC/Discover, 3.95% AMEX) and you're not charged for use of the processor beyond that.

Hey Charlie, found this while doing my own research. Did you find anything? I found three vendors others have used, but I know nothing about them:
- Bidding for Good
- OneCause
- HandBid

Subject: Silent Auction Platform / App
Good Morning,
I'm currently researching Silent Auction Platforms / apps and wanted to check with the list first to see what other organizations have used and been happy with. One of my main requirements is that it has to integrate with Braintree as a payment processor.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
